Evil Dead Update 2.16.18
about 6 years ago – Sat, Feb 17, 2018 at 01:14:23 AM

Hello Everyone!

It's been a LONG week here at the cabin.  Vic and I spent a good deal of time this week sorting through how to do all of this as smoothly as possible -- Honestly, the Kickstarter system is fairly archaic with a number of things -- particularly how to handle direct messages when you are not the project owner.

We're working on it, but it's like trying to run through mud.  I also went over the game box tweaks I mentioned last week, and am implementing those adjustments.

I'm going to keep this update brief since we all know we're in Chinese New Year and there isn't much to report from the manufacturing until they open back up for business.

I hope all of you have a happy and productive weekend -- which doesn't sound very much like something you'd hear in an Evil Dead update -- but all the same...I hope you do.

Good night, Good luck, and stay Groovy!

Michael

Evil Dead Update 2.09.18
about 6 years ago – Sat, Feb 10, 2018 at 01:21:00 AM

Greetings, Deadites!

I’d like to introduce myself. I’m Michael. For the past 6 weeks, I’ve been managing the Terminator: The Official Board Game campaign for Space Goat. This week Space Goat also brought on board Victor, my lifelong friend and co-designer of Grim and Bitten, two games we have released through our publishing company Grim Games. Victor and I will be handling the Evil Dead 2: The Official Board Game campaign project and community management moving forward. We’re really excited to join the space goat team and work on these dream games.

Obviously, you don’t want to hear about staffing changes. You just want to know where your game is and when you can play this glorious beast. Which is why Vic and I are here. Our goal is to get everybody involved as over-informed as possible and get the best possible Evil Dead 2 game into your hands that you could ever want. We can’t wait until you get it. It’s fricken fantastic.

With all that said, let’s get you all a proper update, starting with plastics...

The plastics for the game are ready to go. They look amazing--and I have proof that I’m holding in my hands. I can’t stop marveling at the level of detail these 33mm figures have.

Take a look --

The approval process of these is the hardest and longest part of the process. That is done.

The paper components are pending approval. Why? Because the box didn't come in for proofing from China until about a week ago, and there are a few issues with it that need to be addressed. Vic and I were looking over them when I forced him to be in this photo below.

Once we are finished with them, we will send to our graphic design, Jacob Bascle, for him to comb through.

Now, because the country of China shuts down for almost a full month for Chinese New Year this month, that is going to push things back a few more weeks. (“boo, hiss, f#%k your mother”) I know. I get it. Any delay sucks. Especially at this point in the cycle...but that also gives us a good deal of time to look at the game with fresh eyes and go over it with a fine tooth comb before everything ramps back up when they turn the lights back on in China.

While that is all happening on the production side, Vic is going to be digging through direct messages and responding to any that need replies. We’ll both respond to comments when we can. We’re here to push things forward and build a great community.

Part of setting all of this right is going to be consistently updating you on what’s going on. If you are a Terminator backer you know I’ve committed to updates once a week, and I have been hitting those commitments consistently since I started...even if the update is simply “things are moving forward, no one has died, I’ll be back.”

We’re going to do the same thing here. Either Vic or I will update you every Friday with SOMETHING. Even if that something is just “They are printing. See you next week. Stay Groovy.”

So, with that in mind, I’ll leave you with one final shot of the game from when Vic and I looked over things earlier this week. Look at this glorious game, you soul suckers!

Until next time…

Stay Groovy.

Hello, Soul Suckers!

We hope everyone is having a good New Year so far. We've been busy organizing and proofing a number of things on our end as we push your game further down the manufacturing pipeline. Taylor will be back with updates next month, but in the meanwhile we have 2D asset PROOFS inbound from China.

We really couldn't be more excited!
