Campaign Countdown: Deadite-Day Minus 4
almost 8 years ago – Fri, Aug 05, 2016 at 03:16:36 PM

Hello, Deadite Slayers!

This Countdown update is going out a little early today, but we would be remiss to not send out an update to welcome all our new backers and thank them for getting us over the 5000-backer mark. Welcome, and thank you all so much for your support!

With under five days to go, we need every little bit of momentum to get us to our next big milestone at $550K. The Apple Head Gang will commit group suicide if we don't hit it.

Feel free to click on the image below to our Facebook page and like, share, and tag to your hearts content. Helping boost some of those engagements is a great way to get the word out.

Ignore the numbering. With time zones and the campaign start date, it gets goofy...
Ignore the numbering. With time zones and the campaign start date, it gets goofy...

While we continue to try to bring in as many new backers as we can, we also want to keep you current backers engaged in the campaign. So let's chat about some of the cards!

Haunted Hiker

Deadites are the go-to enemies and come up the most frequently. Their card calls out where on the board they spawn, whether it’s the forest (like this guy), the front door, the bathroom, whatever. The openness of their placement—and the Haunted Hiker has the most open placement by far—is an intentional bit of meta-strategy, causing players to choose between endangering themselves or a distant ally or, in the case of Deadite player, which player they want to target.

For those into immersion of theme, player-based placement fits with the character being the one to notice or discover the enemy where it appeared; the enemy was always going to be there, your character was just the one to notice first.

Deadites are particularly gnarly in that, though they don’t deal virtue damage, they automatically turn any human character they kill into a Deadite. They’re not the strongest, fastest, or hardest to kill, but they’re numbers can be overwhelming. Their special attack causes the nearest other Deadite who isn’t already adjacent to move one space closer to the current player. They really just want you to join them!

Winged Terror

The Winged Terror is brutal. It has a little higher health and attack damage than Deadites, but also deals virtue damage and travels twice as fast. The only reprieve is that there’s only two of them in the whole deck. When an enemy deals both virtue and attack damage in one attack, the virtue damage is calculated first. If both values would be reduced to zero, the character will turn instead of die.

We'll unleash at least two of these cards a day for the balance of the campaign. Now hit the comment section and chat it up!

And also stay groovy!

Campaign Countdown: Deadite-Day Minus 5
almost 8 years ago – Fri, Aug 05, 2016 at 03:16:28 PM

Evening, Deadite Lovers--

We have just entered the fifth to the last day of the campaign (or something like that). We are in the home stretch--and on the verge of unlocking yet another stretch goal at the $500k (and 1 buck) mark. As unbelievable as it sounds, we may be unlocking that quality upgrade by tomorrow morning. That's the momentum you all have created for this campaign!

Thank you all so much.

Team Space Goat has been working hard to find more ways to reward all the backers without making the game box prohibitively heavy. A quality upgrade is a natural. We've also been leaving some card sheets in reserve, so we can offer you this fantastic $525k SG.

And since we'll most likely unlock that SG before Fri, Team Space Goat has figured out a way to cram one more BOSS FIGURE into the game. By popular demand, we bring you:

Apple "Peter Anderson" Head
Apple "Peter Anderson" Head

We aren't sure what else we can cram into that box without it affecting shipping costs, but I'm sure we can all think of something when push comes to shove. I mean, it's not like Taylor, our designer, or our artists need sleep, right?

Besides, who can sleep when things like Deadite Hitler are sitting in your inbox.

And now we have to add Apple Head to the list!

Thanks for making this game possible!

PS: Please give this listicle a read and maybe share it on social media: https://creators.co/@spacegoat/4021590

PPS: Since there are several hundred new backers to the game--and a lot of add-ons--we went ahead and made a simplified graphic so you can see them all in one place. Here you go:

Quality Upgrade in Crosshairs!
almost 8 years ago – Fri, Aug 05, 2016 at 03:16:24 PM

Good Morning!

We weren't expecting to wake up to the next stretch goal unlocked or another 50 new backers since our last update went out 12 hours ago. Welcome! And thank you all so much for your support.

We have six days left on the campaign. Not only did we blow by the $475k SG, we are already well on our way to the $500SG--and the quality upgrade that comes with it!

500+1 SG - Quality Upgrade for All!
500+1 SG - Quality Upgrade for All!

Once we hit $500k (and $1 buck!) all DELUXE GAMES (regardless of the tier you are getting it from) will receive a QUALITY UPGRADE! That gets us so much closer to our spell check goals!

It looks like everyone is happy with the add-ons based on increased pledge numbers. If there are any questions about how to add add-ons please review the updates from either July 25th or last night. If you still have questions, send us a PM or jump into the Comment section and ask. There's always someone in there who can help with a quick question or 20.

Couple Randos:

  • Quantity of the total number of Cabin Dice has been reduced to 720. 30 of those need to be allocated to the Evil Ed tier. So that's where they went. There are currently only 425 sets left. Once they sell out, they are gone forever or until you find a set on eBay for much, much more in 6 months.
  • We have reduced the price of the Deadite Army Tier. For $1750 you will get your likeness on a Deadite Soldier figure. This figure ships with every box sold throughout the campaign. This tier also includes a larger version of the figure just for the backer, a Deluxe box with all the fixings, and now includes a pair of Cabin Dice. Yup. Cabin Dice. We will adjust the Cabin Dice Tier accordingly in the near future.

We'll have another "hot list" update of available limited items go out later on today.

Keep up the great work. We wouldn't be the 9th most popular Kickstarter campaign (and climbing) on all of Kickstarter without you!

Stay Groovy!

Evil Dead Never Die!
almost 8 years ago – Fri, Aug 05, 2016 at 03:16:20 PM

Evening, Deadite Slayers!

First, welcome new backers!

125 new backers joined the campaign in the last 24 hours. However you all found us, thanks for joining. You've helped make us one of the Top 10 campaigns on Kickstarter right now.

With just six days to go, we have a lot of work ahead of us to keep momentum building. There's a lot of frequently asked questions by new backers. The single biggest is:

"How do I add an add-on?"

You can refer back to the July 25th update "How to Add an Add-on" if you'd like, but it's super simple:

To add add-ons, just go to your pledge page and add the total dollar amount of all the add-ons that you want to your pledge. At the end of the campaign, you will receive a survey. You select what you want at that time!

Here's a handy graphic:

That's it!

Whether you have comments or questions about this or the game in general, we encourage you to stop by the Comment section and interact with your fellow backers. One of the main reasons we chose to do this Kickstarter is to build community with fellow board game and Evil Dead fans. We'd love to hear from you and share some thoughts.

Now that we are finished with the hugging, here's some new press on the game showing some game play:

And here's a website backer Peter Anderson created because he is crazy:

We'll be back every night until the last day of the campaign with a fresh update showing off stuff none of you have seen before. Like maybe that Deadite Hitler figure. MAYBE!

Let's make these last six days count!

Stay Groovy!
